The Austrian publisher Jowood who released Gothic 2 and 3 from the developer Piranha Bytes and had to take a lot of flack in the last years, has officially requested to open a rehabilitation procedure at the commercial court in Vienna. Basically, this is the formal declaration of bankrupty in Austrian law and somewhat similar to chapter 11 in the US.

Jowood recently appeared on the radar screen of the Risen community when they sued the current publisher of the Piranhas (the Koch Media Ltd.). It remains doubtful that this lawsuit will now be pursued any further.
